Lenovo s10 Review, Lenovo Laptop Computers
November 26, 2008
The design of the IdeaPad S10 is unsurprisingly similar to other netbooks we’ve seen in recent months, but Lenovo has managed to include a few pleasant surprises. The exterior is covered in white “pearl-like” plastics with a slight glossy finish. The interior keyboard and palmrest surfaces are covered with matte white plastics with reasonable durability and only a minor bit of flex around the palmrests when you press firmly on those surfaces. MacBook Air 1.86GHz Review
November 26, 2008
On the outside, the new MacBook Air 1.86GHz is identical to the first generation of Apple’s lightweight laptops. But inside it’s quite different, offering a new and faster processor, upgraded video circuitry, a faster front-side bus, faster RAM, and a new display connector. As a result, the new generation of MacBook Air is superior to the original. However, the substantial upgrades Apple has made to the rest of the MacBook line threaten to narrow the MacBook Air’s already limited appeal even further. Read more
Add or change album art Windows Media
November 25, 2008
Windows Media Player 11 automatically downloads album art when possible from an online database. However, if you aren’t connected to the Internet or the Player doesn’t find the album art you want to use, you can manually add or change album art by following these instructions.
1. To get started, click the Library tab and find the album whose art you want to change.
2. Using Windows Explorer, find the picture you want to use as album art. Right-click on the picture and choose Copy to copy the picture to the Windows Clipboard.
3. Back in Windows Media Player, right-click on the album’s cover art and choose Paste Album Art. The Player will automatically make a copy of the image and resize it to fit the space.
Although the Player downloads album art from an online database, the Player won’t change art you manually add.
HP TouchSmart IQ816 Review
November 10, 2008
The HP TouchSmart IQ816 PC ($2,099.99 list) is the big brother of the TouchSmart IQ506, which I reviewed earlier this year. Like its sibling, the IQ816 is an all-in-one PC with a touch screen that can work as its primary interface. The IQ816 has a largish 25.5-inch widescreen with a 1,920-by-1,200 native resolution, making it primed for HDTV content. Combined with the built-in ATSC/HDTV tuner, the IQ816 could replace the TV in one’s kitchen, bedroom, or den. It’s a decent performer but loses a couple of points because it’s loaded with crapware and the screen doesn’t quite fit the bezel. The IQ816’s real strength is that it’s more touch-centric than its all-in-one rivals. Read more

Yahoo tells Microsoft: ‘Buy us’
November 7, 2008
Yahoo said the “For Sale” sign is still on its front lawn and that Microsoft should buy the company.
The internet portal’s co-founder and CEO Jerry Yang made the comment despite the fact Yahoo rejected a $33 (£21) a share offer from Microsoft back in May.
Mr Yang’s suggestion also came hours after Google pulled out of an internet advertising partnership with Yahoo.
“To this day the best thing for Microsoft to do is buy Yahoo,” said Mr Yang.
“I don’t think that is a bad idea at all, at the right price whatever that price is. We’re willing to sell the company,” he told a packed ballroom at the Web 2.0 summit in San Francisco. Read more

Apple iMac 20-inch Review
November 6, 2008
After a great deal of speculation on the latest update to the iMac, it turns out that the rumour mongers were correct.
Brushed aluminium and glass it is, and it’s a bit thinner – doesn’t sound like much on paper. Even once the announcement was made and pictures flooded the internet, it didn’t look as though Apple had done a great deal this time round. So it’s a bit thinner, they’ve used new materials and given the keyboard an eating disorder – big deal, you’re probably thinking. Until you see it all in the flesh, that is. Read more
Dell Latitude E6400
November 4, 2008
The Dell Latitude D630 has had one of the most successful runs in business laptops, gracing the desks of countless professionals over the past two years. But at this point it’s so long in the tooth that it lacks features as simple as a built-in media card reader—something that can be found on most business laptops today. The Latitude E6400 ($1,888 direct) is a major transformation, so much so that it bears little resemblance, visual or otherwise, to its predecessors. The brushed-aluminum-style case, a resurfaced interior, brand-new Intel parts, and, yes, a media card reader are just a few of the upgrades Dell has made in its business laptop overhaul. Read more
Nokia 6600 Slide Review
November 4, 2008
Nokia’s ability to churn out five new phones per day makes already makes things a little confusing for the phone buyer, but now it’s recycling its old phone names. Back in 2003, the 6600 was the Finns’ flagship mobile thanks to its astonishing VGA camera. And now, five years later, we welcome the 6600 Slide – a fashion phone with very different ideas.
