Apple considering 24-bit iPod/iTunes update
Apple is reportedly in talks with record labels over offering higher quality digital tracks, though it will take more than just a 24-bit master before the sound from your iPod is significantly improved. According to CNN, Apple is among the companies in talks regarding using 24-bit master recordings and higher-quality file types, with Interscope-Geffen-A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine saying the Cupertino company is considering changing “some of their electronic devices” to work with the boosted tracks.
Dell Completes $940M Acquisition
The acquisition is Dell’s latest strategic investment in an effort to expand its enterprise storage and data center software portfolio, which also includes EqualLogic (acquired in 2007), KACE (2010) and Boomi (2010).
Following a vote of approval by Compellent Technologies shareholders on Feb. 22, Dell completed its $940 million cash acquisition ($27.75 per share) of the fast-growing maker of virtualized enterprise storage systems.
Apple using ‘market power’
Consumer group Choice has chastised Apple over its Australian iTunes Store pricing after an analysis revealed Australians pay almost 50 per cent more than Americans for a basket of music tracks and apps.
Choice says Apple is using its “market power” to charge users in Australia more but Apple says comparing different countries using currency conversions is not relevant.
HP reins in Depression-era PC factory

A large western Sydney computer packing company, which forced workers to wait until the night before to find out whether they had work the next day, and reportedly subjected them to poor working conditions, has agreed to offer staff permanent contracts.
Late last year this website revealed Depression-era employment conditions in which staff from the Foxteq factory in Rydalmere would be forced to wait anxiously for text messages telling them whether or not there was work for them the next day.
Samsung Galaxy tablet gets big screen

SAMSUNG unveiled a bigger tablet as well as the high-end Android-based Galaxy S 2 smartphone, the successor to its 2010 blockbuster, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona overnight.
South Korea-based Samsung, the world’s second-largest maker of mobile phones behind Nokia, said the new devices would help it maintain double-digit operating profit growth at its mobile division in 2011.
Apple plans a smaller, cheaper iPhone
APPLE is working on the first of a new line of iPhones and an overhaul of software services for the devices, people familiar with the matter said, moving to accelerate sales of its smartphones amid growing competition.
One of the people, who saw a prototype of the phone late last year, said the device is intended for sale alongside Apple’s existing line. The new device would be about half the size of the iPhone 4, which is the current model.

The famous PC maker company, Dell is now planning to launch a high-end smartphone for the Indian market, named the Dell Venue. Dell Venue is the Dell’s first Windows Phone 7 mobile Operating System based smartphone.
Motorola Xoom
After posting an ad teaser and a series of web banner ads promoting its new tablet, Motorola presented its entire full length Super Bowl spot for the Xoom tablet, packed with references to Apple in a bid to court iPad users.
