HP Pavilion p6727c-b
HP has produced Pavilion p6000 series desktops for the past couple of years. The HP Pavilion p6727c-b ($749.99 list) is one of the better ones: it’s sold as a complete kit consisting of a tower PC plus a large 23-inch monitor. If you’re a Costco member in the market for a new desktop PC, the p6727c-b is one of the best bang for the buck choices; just be sure to budget an afternoon to uninstall all the extra bloatware.
Dell Ultrasharp U2711

The last time I reviewed one of Dell’s UltraSharp monitors, the 2408WFP ($689.00 Direct, ), I was wowed by its solid performance and robust feature set. Despite the relatively high price, it merited an Editors’ Choice award. So it was with great anticipation that I popped open the box containing the Dell UltraSharp U2711 (1,099 direct) that recently arrived on my doorstep. And once again, I am impressed. This versatile 27-inch monitor delivers deep, rich colors and offers a multitude of input options. It also does good job of displaying fast action video. It isn’t exactly cheap, but the good news is, you’ll get what you pay for, which is why it earns our Editors’ Choice award. Read more
Sony VAIO VPC-L117FX/B

All in one desktops with touch screens are becoming very popular in the Australian computer. Dell were one of the first major companies to offer an all-in-one desktop to the consumers. Sony are now entering the market with their Sony VAIO L11. This VPC has a nice bonnet but does the engine have the roar. Read more

HP TouchSmart IQ816 Review
The HP TouchSmart IQ816 PC ($2,099.99 list) is the big brother of the TouchSmart IQ506, which I reviewed earlier this year. Like its sibling, the IQ816 is an all-in-one PC with a touch screen that can work as its primary interface. The IQ816 has a largish 25.5-inch widescreen with a 1,920-by-1,200 native resolution, making it primed for HDTV content. Combined with the built-in ATSC/HDTV tuner, the IQ816 could replace the TV in one’s kitchen, bedroom, or den. It’s a decent performer but loses a couple of points because it’s loaded with crapware and the screen doesn’t quite fit the bezel. The IQ816′s real strength is that it’s more touch-centric than its all-in-one rivals. Read more
Apple iMac 20-inch Review
After a great deal of speculation on the latest update to the iMac, it turns out that the rumour mongers were correct.
Brushed aluminium and glass it is, and it’s a bit thinner – doesn’t sound like much on paper. Even once the announcement was made and pictures flooded the internet, it didn’t look as though Apple had done a great deal this time round. So it’s a bit thinner, they’ve used new materials and given the keyboard an eating disorder – big deal, you’re probably thinking. Until you see it all in the flesh, that is. Read more
HP Compaq Presario SR5610F Review
The HP Compaq Presario SR5610F is part of the HP’s Compaq Presario SR line of budget-price PCs. Like most SR models, the SR5610F is a no-frills model that costs less than $500. Its capable handling of basic daily computing tasks (Web browsing, archiving CDs, e-mailing, standard office productivity) can make for a decent student PC or second home computer. Read more
HP Pavilion Slimline s3500f
The HP Pavilion Slimline s3500f ($580 direct) is HP’s customizable version of the Slimline PC configuration we’ve seen before in the Slimline s3330f. It uses the same case, but the s3500f is a little more than half the price of its predecessor. Obviously the new system has fewer bells and whistles, but then again, you don’t always need all the optional extras to get a useful PC, especially for the midrange user or student.
