iPad to Arrive in May

THE release of Apple’s iPad in Australia and elsewhere around the world has been put back to the end of next month because of heavy demand in the US. Apple announced the worldwide delay last night, citing surprisingly strong sales in the US for the “difficult decision”.

The tablet computer was released in the US on April 3. It was due in Australia later this month.Apple said it had delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week in the US, and demand was likely to exceed supply for several more weeks.

Apple will announce interdhnational pricing and begin taking online pre-orders on May 10.
